Situated in
Sector 16, Chandigarh, Zakir Rose garden is Asia’s largest
rose garden. The garden was established in 1967 under the
guidance of Chandigarh’s first Chief Commissioner late Dr.
H. S. Randhawa. Spread over an area of 30 acres, it is
having over 1600 different species of roses. Each year, in
the months of February & March a big Rose festival is
celebrated at this garden. This event is listed in the
national calendar of fairs & festivals. Over 20,000 people
visit this festival.
